Using Natural Health Methods to Feel Better

Natural Health Answers to Everyday Illness

If you are like the rest of us, when you get sick, the first place you visit is probably the pharmacy aisle at your local drug or grocery store. Most of us have made it a habit to seek out chemicalized answers to our illnesses through over the counter medications. What if you could break the habit?

What if you had the remedies you needed to feel better right in your kitchen cabinets? What if you could cure your illness simply by staying home? You have a lot of options available that will help you cure your sickness naturally!

Peppers are wonderful natural health remedies. Bell peppers are filled with vitamin C and if you include some with your meals you can kick start your immune system so that you’ll have an easier time staying healthy. Cayenne pepper is another ingredient that is great for colds, flues and your sinuses. A great way to help yourself breathe easier and to relax your sinuses is to put some cayenne pepper in your tea. Cayenne pepper is a great way to raise your body temperature so that you can start sweating out all of those cold and flu germs that are making you sick.

Blowing your nose can be done incorrectly—did you know that? Blowing your nose correctly is important because if you don’t you might stay sick for much longer than you have to. To blow your nose correctly, close one nostril while you blow gently through the other nostril and then switch side. Don’t put too much pressure behind the blowing. If you don’t blow your nose carefully you could cause yourself further distress. You might accidentally cause earaches. Blowing your nose probably seems gross but doing it correctly is beneficial and eventually you get over the “ick” factor. If you only sniffle and don’t blow your nose, you could make your illness worse. Washing your hands after you blow your nose is a must!

Make your diet sugar free. Sugar makes your immune system slow and it’s easier for a cold or flu to sneak into your system. Lots of former sugar eaters say that once they cut the sugar out of their diets, they felt a lot healthier than they used to. Instead of choosing a sugary drink (which might taste better), choose water because water helps you flush out toxins and sugary drinks helps them get in. Sugar might taste great but it is terrible for your system and it can hinder all of hard work that your natural health remedies are doing to get you well. Getting well when you have the flu or a cold could be as simple as choosing the right natural health remedy. Why would you fill your body with drugs when there is another way? If you’ve been given a prescription for medication from your doctor you should take it but if you haven’t been given any direct orders why not try the natural alternatives to your pharmacy aisle?
